JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation wants to thank deer hunters.
The MDC says they appreciate hunters for participating in its tissue sampling efforts in 30 counties to find cases of chronic waste disease. The MDC says it collected tissue samples from about 2,780 hunters on November 14 and 15.
Officials are also reminding hunters that they can still have their harvested deer sampled for free through the end of the season, which is January 15, through more than 140 partnering taxidermists and meat processors around the state.
